Paz Ulloa (San José, Costa Rica, 1986) is a visual artist and designer, studied at the School of Fine Arts at the University of Costa Rica (UCR), with an emphasis in Graphic Design and print making. She has exhibited her work on numerous occasions, both individually and collectively. Her solo exhibitions include “Sol”, at deCERCA, Nosara, 2024; “Oda a sexto día”, at deCERCA, San José, 2023; “Centro del Sol”, at Kamalio Gallery, 2023; A.R. Routine, Impakto Gallery, Lima, 2020; Friends, Equilátero, San José, 2016; Penta, Project K, San José, 2014; Last Goodbye, Diablo Rosso, Panama City, 2012; A.R. Meadow, at Bickar Gallery, San José, 2011; and Anulpha Pass, Despacio, San José, 2009. She has also participated in a series of group shows, including: Afternoon Delight, at deCERCA Nosara, Nosara, 2023; Powersoul, Susan Alexandra, NYC, 2022; Sin Pena con Gloria, MADC, San José, 2022; Internal Environments, MADC, San José, 2021-2022; 321_0_123, _temporal, San José, 2021; Contaminación Cruzada, _temporal, San José, 2021; Small Objects, La Salita, NYC, 2019; New Painters, Salt Gallery, California, 2013; Boobs, Despacio, San José, 2012; Cadáver Exquisito, Diablo Rosso, Panamá City, 2009; amongst other. Similarly, she has participated in editorial projects, such as Communication Arts, at Galería Despacio, VOGUE, La Nación and Casa Galería, and as Art Director, both in audiovisual and cinematographic productions. She has been accoladed for her contribution in Graphic Design and Illustration, receiving the award for Communication Arts at the 58th Annual Design Excellence Award Menlo Park, California, 2017, for her work Super Flower Power Poster series; the San Pellegrino award, for Anagrama (Obra Gris) in Textile Design, San José, 2015; and received the first place with “O”, in Valoarte IX, San Jose, 2011.
