“Fuera Del Tiempo” | A Group Show

“Out of Time” is an exhibition that delves into the individual and independent bodies of work by Alessandra, Carolina, and Pablo while engaging in a dialogue about the transversal axes that connect them: landscape, human beings, and their relationship with nature, environment, and the experiences generated by these dynamics.

The selection of artworks responds to the sensation of timelessness without a defined territory, that landscape which can be situated anywhere and nowhere. It is the relationship of the subject with the environment, presented with their back to us—a kind of spectator of the spectator that reveals a truth, whatever that may be. In other words, photography situates us in an omniscient way, outside of time, and places us in front of the problems or solutions of the world, making us a part of it.

Photography embodies a paradox: representation or presentation, fiction or reality, to be or to belong; it serves as an archive, yet simultaneously, it idealizes what is observed. Photography freezes the image of a past time to bring it to the present and subsequently, to the future. Contemplating photography has never been a simple exercise; rather, it is a possibility, as it emerges to capture everything that is important, to give new meaning to certainties, to reconcile all the entities of the landscape and what happens, what remains, what resonates.

Those who practice photography explore, wander, capture, and transform. Photography, as a technique, language, and instrument for interpreting the world, is approached by Carolina, Pablo, and Alessandra as that body of time which thinks and records the landscape from the urge to recognize themselves there, from their perspective. They have a premonition that they are capable of interfering, and that the landscape is an active agent that affects our daily experience—an aura or invisible sensation that remains, something experienced outside of time.
